This 1952 advertisement features the The Austin Princess II at Stonehenge.
The Austin Vanden Plas Princess II was a Coachbuilt Saloon produced on the Austin A135 Chassis in the early 1950's. It weighed almost two tons, was 16 ft 9 inches long, and a bit over 6 feet wide and had a 121 inches wheelbase. It's 4-liter straight-6 engine produced a top speed of 90mph and 0 to 60 mph time of about 20 seconds, quite robust for a 4-door luxury saloon. Priced a little under 3,000 Pounds Stirling after taxes, this was unquestionably a luxury Saloon for the rich and famous in the early 1950's.
